I wouldn't drop to 1200 calories without a doctor's okay. You will be absolutely starving, especially if you are planning on exercising.

Within the book there is a section with tips to drop the calories to 1200-1300.
It includes suggestions such as:
decreasing 1-2 of the daily snacks.
using a smaller amount of the entrée
etc.

This may help

I'm not sure what you are asking... are you asking for ideas on a meal plan to hit 1200 calories? Are you asking if 1200 calories is a good plan in spite of what you have read on Spark saying to do 1500? Something else?
