I agree! This was such a revelation for me when I first started 7 months ago. No wonder I felt tired and weak most days - I was giving my body complete crap to work with most of the time. High carb, low protein was how I used to eat and I was constantly crashing from all of those sugar rushes. It was also so eye opening to start looking up the nutrition for chain restaurants. It's REALLY hard to tell if the salad or the filet is the best choice unless you look at the nutrition facts - appetizers can be half of your daily calories (and most of the time they aren't THAT good!). It's crazy. Now, I still go out, but I'd rather pick a lower calorie entree option, skip the appetizer and have a glass or two of wine - it's just all about the choices.
