How much protein for 1200 Kcal diet

The person who posted has a mini-goal of 30-some pounds on her tracker. She has more than that to lose, AND she's talking about the adjustment on days when she exercises vigorously, AND Becky said that the top of her range might be too high. She has things set so her range is 1500-1900, and Becky said that 1900 is probably too high and she might want to aim for the 1500.

For the original poster, another guideline is to aim for about 1 gram of protein for every 2 pounds of body weight. The range SparkPeople gives you will be in that neighborhood, but some folks find that the formula is easier to understand.

Female, 5'4". Weighing in on the first weekend of the month.

If you have more than 100 pounds to lose, the calorie range you've been given might be a little too high. If that applies to you, you might want to start a new thread to get Becky's opinion on your calorie range.

Dietician Becky is advising a user that the Spark-recommended calorie range is inaccurate and that she should eat fewer than the recommended number of calories.

How can a user know if the range recommended by Spark is appropriate or not?

Hi,
As long as you are burning what you are eating, it is okay to add more intake of protein. Protein is very important nutrient to physically active persons.

As long as your calories burned goal reflects the amount of exercise you're doing, you should be fine to eat in the calorie and nutrient ranges your SP program suggests- on days you exercise, and on days you don't. So if you're eating at the lower end of your calorie range, for example, it's fine to still stay in that recommended range for protein vs. going lower.

Here is the question. I go to gym or ride bicycle (depends on the weather), say, 4-5 days a week for cardio and moderate weight training and take something like 80-90 grams protein per day.

So, do I cut protein intake proportionally when cutting calories down to 1200Kcal/day or I need to keep protein intake at the same 80-90 grams/day level and cut everything else (carbs and fats)?
