OMG Lisa!! I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. It's like your bladder knows that the bathroom is steps away & it just can't wait!

This is a funny subject for me because I can control my bladder pretty well while I am at work or just out and about.
But it seems my bladder knows when I am at home with keys in hand trying to open the front door without peeing allover myself! And most of the time just barely making to the bathroom..Sometimes I DO have accidents...I don't understand that! LOL.. emoticon emoticon

You need to develop your "teacher's bladder". It's always the worse at the beginning of the year. I train mine to go at the beginning of my special and again at the end. Same with lunch.

A lot of people (teachers) use a water bottle while they are working. Are you able to do this, or aren't you allowed? What breaks do you have apart from lunch, because those are good opportunities, too. I always keep a small sipper bottle in my car for when I am driving. I just have a small mouthful every now and then, more frequently in the summer than the winter. I don't care if the water gets warm, in fact, I prefer it to cold water.

I wouldn't be guzzling a heap of any liquid all in one hit OR in a short time-frame - EVER.

The other thing to remember is that there is NO hard and fast rule that says you HAVE to drink "X" amount of water per day. Instead, be guided by thirst AND the colour of your urine. If it is clear you can afford to cut back a bit - ideally your urine should be a pale yellow.

Kris

Thank you everyone, it is great to know that I have not got the only supper tiny bladder, in a big body! LOL

Is it better to take small sips, throughout the whole day? The travelling to work, or work itself is a problem as I teach!

It sort of gets better. Or maybe you get better at timing your water so that the peeing isn't always so inconvenient.

I don't know. I have a ridiculously tiny bladder so my experiences may not be helpful. LOL

I've found that consistency when drinking water is the key to success for me - plus using a straw!

I know that when I frequently drink water on a regular basis I have to go to the bathroom on a regular basis. If/when I'm more sporadic then when I do drink the right amount I need to go more frequently.

I have to plan when I am going to drink, depending if I have a long journey, only can have minimal water, but once home, end up trying to have at least 8 glasses of water.
