I recently made some vegan zuchinni bread that called for flax seed. It was delish! I would imagine you could throw them in any kind of bread.

I've still got some in the freezer--ground and whole--consuming the oil is probably better but it is a bit more expensive than the seeds.
I now use Krill oil as a source of omega-3 fatty acids; also the DHA and EPA extracts.

I make muffins out of the flax meal (ground flax). They are so good and filling. I make applesauce or blueberry. Really healthy and tasty.

I use my small coffee bean grinder which I use just for the flax. Then I keep the ground in a small jar in the frig. I keep my whole seeds in the freezer also. I would think a mortar and pestle would do fine.

I use ground flax in oatmeal, smoothies, homemade baked goods and in my yogurt. Today I used them in the buttermilk oatmeal pancakes. I think I'll toss them on my salad tomorrow.

I am retired ~ I no longer have an excuse to not take care of myself.

I keep them in the freezer in an air-tight container because I buy them ground.

I like to use them on my cabbage salads.

well you don't want to heat them you want to grind them add them to your oatmeal.. smoothies.. I grind up a few tbsp and add it too salad and it helps absorb the phyto nutrients of the salad... it also kills cancers

They are a great substitute when baking in the place of eggs. You soak 1 tablespoon of flax seeds in 4 tablespoons of water for a couple minutes. I also throw them into my smoothies.

So i just went out and bought flax seeds, now what do i do with them? I heard you have to grind them is that true? Also im not sure what to put them in. Ideas would be great! Thanks!
