1800 is a little high, but if you really do weigh 260lbs, 1500 a day is not out of the question. As you get closer to 200 lbs, that should start topping out at 1000 for your differential. keep in mind that when you get more calories to eat, the idea is to maintain your deficit, which is why you need to eat at least part of them back.

-google first. ask questions later.

I am having the same issue. I have been working out so much and am ending up with a calorie leftover of 1400 to 1800 calories per day. I am really curious as too how much more I should eat. I hear all over the place that there should be a 500 calorie difference for 1 lb per week loss but I am kind of perplexed with how much more I should eat. I am also eating all the right stuff and I am at 1200 to 1500 calories per day while burning over 1000 every day causing the huge leftover. I think that I am doing alright but I have hit a plateau with my weight loss and while I am getting stronger and fitter I would like to see the results. Hope you find out too!

Never give up, never surrender!

P.S. Feel free to take a look at my food journal on my Spark Page, if you feel you need to.

Hello everyone! How are you on this Wednesday evening? I hope all is fantastic!! I have a bit of a dilemma, and I am hoping someone could give me some ideas here....
This morning, at the Rec Center where I work out, there are a few ladies that work there, who have made it their mission to keep me on track and motivated (Yay!! I love them!!). Well, this morning, one of the ladies, Barb, took a look at my daily food journal and exercise log. She was very pleased with it, and told me that I am eating all the right foods......then she asked to see my daily calorie differentials. I whipped out my app, to show her and she nearly hit the floor. My daily differentials average anywhere from 1,800 - 900 calories. I truly thought that was what I was aiming for! I was told that that is way WAY too much, and they cannot see how I even have the energy to even get out of bed every morning, let alone workout. I have to admit though, that this week my workouts have been slacking a whole lot. I can barely finish 30 minutes on the treadmill, and now I know why. What do you normally average a day? Do you have a differential goal? When I work out, I am given several more calories for the day, but I am honestly afraid to eat them. Can you recommend to me some good snacks that I could eat between meals, other than fruit (I bought some today)? Any advice is very appreciated.
