Weight Watchers gives everyone a points limit (basically, calories) when they start the WW program. It's figured from your gender, age, height, weight, etc. When you lose weight, the points limit gets lower - you get to eat fewer calories - bummer! But that is the way weight loss works. So, BMI, BMR, whatever, it IS affected by weight loss. I don't know why I didn't appreciate this fact myself all along!

It's normal for your weight loss to slow the less you have to lose. Your body can easily lost 2+ pounds per week when you're over 200 lbs, as you draw closer to your goal weight, it gets harder, and slower. That doesn't mean you're not making progress! This is normal, and how the body works. :)

Yes, thank you. I wasn't sure which board was the right place to ask. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right. I still have about 30 lbs to go and the weight loss is starting to slow down more. Just hav to persevere. Thx for the help

I just got my body composition testing done using a very accurate method. The results showed that my basal metabolic rate is now 1630 cal/day. A year and a half ago it was 1856. Should I be concerned? Is this very low? Did it drop because I lost 50 lbs and 9% body fat or did it drop because I was on a low calorie diet too long? I work out a ton and weight train, isn't that suppose to raise it also? My lean weight also dropped 16 lbs. Fat weight, thank God, is down 34lbs. Any advice or explanation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
