I've actually always been a fairly healthy eater. The only point in my life where I was not was when I was starting to eat meat again after 9 years of vegetarianism. My commuter college was across the street from a Wendy's, and I would go to the drive thru every day after classes were done and scarf down a JBC or two. So yeah, kinda grossed out by that haha

Hubby and I were discussing how our eating habits have changed through the years.

I wouldn't say that we're grossed out by the comparison, but we certainly are enlightened (and thankfully have changed for the better)

A little bit, but more along the lines of what other posters have said, I can't believe how MUCH I used to eat! And not even think twice! I can't believe I didn't weigh more than I did...

My old eating habits don't gross me out, but more surprise me. I was so unconcerned by what I was eating, I didn't realize what I was doing to myself!

No, not really. From the time of my first full-time job at age 21 to when I was around 50, I pretty much ate as much as I wanted, whenever I wanted, whatever I wanted. And I did not gain all that much weight. Then, of course, age and a slower-metabolism set-in, and now I can not eat that way and be healthy.

But I do miss it, to be honest.

I wouldn't necessarily say my old habits were "gross" (I ate fairly healthy for the most part, but way too much) - but I do look back and wonder how I ate so much! Just last week my husband and I went out to dinner and ordered a plate of calamari, a dozen wings, and a grilled cheese sandwich to share - between the 2 of us we left half of everything, and commented that "man, 2 years ago we would have had no problem putting this much food away, and now we are STUFFED." And that's less food than we would have ordered back then! It just doesn't seem physically possible to eat as much as we did!

Do something everyday that your future self will thank you for.

I loved your disclaimer! emoticon I can honestly say that my bad eating habit were ever that out of control but I definitely made bad choices when I was at my fattest. I think I have eaten at McDonald's maybe 5 times since I initially lost my weight. And I think I got smoothies 3 of those times. Maybe not the healthiest smoothie out there but better than a Big Mac and fries and the ensuing gut rot.

I guess what makes me sad is when I see friends, one in particular, who is morbidly obese, complains about being fat, and then makes stupid food choices. She'll order a large specialty drink at a coffee shop without modifications, meaning it weighs in around 700 calories. I just want to scream. She got dessert, not coffee! emoticon

They make ashamed.. Id go to McDonalds for 2 double cheeseburgers after work then come home and eat HALF of a large bah of pizza rolls. Probably double of my daily needed calories in a half hour killing myself slowly. Thank goodness I saw the light and changed! I feel so much better
