I've heard Coach Nicole (on Spark Coach) talk about there being a BIG difference between "activity" and "exercise." I'm wondering if your housework is more like activity, so you might not really be getting much exercise in. When you do your housework, are you doing it fast and furious where your heart rate is pumping? If not, I would not be counting it as exercise.
As for exercise, can you find 10 minutes a day? SparkPeople has LOTS of free videos that require no equipment and are 10 minutes or less. They are now saying that exercising in 10-minute increments can be just as good as a full workout.
The reason I'm asking these specific questions is because I track all of my eating and exercise regularly. I burn about 2000 calories weekly in exercise. Yet my calorie range is 1250-1560.
So I'm thinking it might NOT be that you're not eating enough, but maybe you're not exercising enough???
Everybody is different and different things work for different people. Just throwing out a different idea, as you asked. Good luck to you!!!
