Quest nutrition natural protein bars are very, very chewy (especially if you keep them refrigerated) and great along a cup of coffee. They are170 calories per bar, so maybe just have half for a snack?

If you've just got to have that crunch, steer clear of potato chips and packaged popcorn -- the processed ingredients in these snack foods can kill your energy, maybe try green pepper slices with salsa or....

3 cups of air-popped popcorn (no salt, no butter) sprinkle with Parm or Romano cheese which also has protein or cinnamon to flavor. Better than the bags...Presto Air-popper $19.99 @ WALMART best investment I ever made and in the long run it's cheaper to air pop and better for your health. The Great Value Walmart Brand popcorn is inexpensive and pops nicely.

1/2 cup Cottage Cheese and a handful of Matchstick carrots, flaxseeds around 75 calories

Carrots with 2 tablespoons light ranch dressing, Radishes, Fresh Zucchini Slices, cucumber slices, raw broccoli, raw cauliflower, celery stix

20 almonds .... about 140 calories.,,.healthiest choice for nuts
Walnuts per day can keep your heart healthy...about 27 calories a whole walnut.
Pumpkin Seeds have vitamins...Pepitas ( Already Shelled Pumpkin Seeds )
Pistachios...helps lower cholesterol

Kashi Asiagio Whole grain crackers or their Honey Sesame Crackers...good with cheese or fruit

Wasabi peas provide a low-fat snack and quick fuel for energy... about 120 calories for a handful

Olives do contain fat, but it's the healthy monounsaturated kind, they hydrate you also

Deli roast beef is almost as low in fat as turkey. Two to three deli slices are less than 150 calories...wrap around sesame breadstix

Just some ideas

I like munching on cut up raw veggies. try dipping them in the hummus

All the so called "secrets of success"will not work ... unless you do.

The 100 calorie microwave popcorn is pretty good for this.

I also enjoy the Sabra hummus and pretzel snacks. To save money, you can make your own if you have a small food processor or blender. And to save on calories, use cucumber slices or celery for dipping instead of the pretzels.

I'm with you. I'm a chewer, so I like snacks that last awhile. I know you said you don't want fruit suggestions, but if you like grapefruit, this is one of the most time-consuming and satisfying of the fruit snacks. I peel it like an orange! It takes awhile to peel all the pith then eat all the sections.

Hello!

I am looking for suggestions for work snacks. Preferably something easy and cheap. This will likely sound silly, but I like stuff that I have to chew a lot because it lasts me much longer than like say a banana or a granola bar which are gone in a few good bites. Right now I bring a small container of frosted mini wheats or 100 calorie bag popcorn. Both are good just want to add to the list! I know everyone is going to say a fruit option, but I'm really looking for some other than fruit. I usually have fruit for breakfast and lunch so I do eat fruit, just seeing if anyone has any good ideas for a good, lasting snack idea. Inexpensive is also important (just bought a new home so every dollar is getting stretched right now!)

Thanks!
