Thank you for this question. I'm "eating up" the answers.
I eat for stress and boredom. and these are some great links and tips, all!

Just trying to learn to eat right, before i worry too much about cals.

Making sure you have plenty of healthy options around for eating is key. I like the idea of smaller meals but more often also. It's not so bad turning to food when it's healthy food!

I also suggested you check out the SparkPeople articles under Motivation and Nutrition. They have TONS of ideas to help!!

I had a very stressfull job situation for awhile. When the pressure got to be too much I would go grab a candy bar or something to eat.

What helped were two things. Eating a better diet and planning my food (I eat 6 small meals a day) took away all the food stress. I knew I was eating what my body needed to perform it's best.

Then when I was feeling better about myself and more confident, I was able to take charge and work through my job stress more constructively--it didn't go away, but it got better.

I tend to always turn to food when I feel stress, my emotions are running high such as losing my precious cat of 22 years or when I am tired because I was called out at 2 a.m. to a crime scene. How do I break this habit to gravitate to food when I get this way? I want to truly break this cycle.
