I eat red meat once a week at most, and love chili with ground beef, or a nice fat juicy steak. However on many weeks I eat chicken and veggies for 14 of my 21 main meals.
This week, I am having chicken, tomato, and mushroom cooked in olive oil, for lunch, and dinner every single day. I absolutely love boneless skinless chicken thighs from my local Amish meat market. Not a huge fan of chicken breast though. Too low in fat.
This meal to me is like dessert. I love it, and sometimes toss in onions, but probably have eaten something similar 6 days a week for the last 4 years. I don't think I could eat beef this much. I eat about 1.25-1.5 lbs of chicken daily. I would eat it before having a bowl of ice cream. Right now, I am waiting for my brother to wake up from a nap, so we can have dinner, and watch some TV, so I can have more chicken. I am bordering on addiction to chicken..lol. I think it would be the same with any food that you eat a lot. Our body adapts, and craves what is available. I no longer want pop, or any seasoning, besides garlic powder, and black pepper. My chicken tastes salty, even though it is just 80 mg per 4 oz servings.
Tastes change, and if you were to eat fish exclusively for a month, you would crave fish. For me chicken is chicken, and preferable to beef right now.
