There's no reason you should have to give up oatmeal just because i contains carbs. Carbs are not the enemy!

SP has an article that teaches the truth about carbs:

About granola - yeah, go with homemade so you can control the sugar and fat. The vast majority of commercial granolas are so laden with fat and sugar that they are almost more of a candy than a cereal! So either find a good quality one, or make your own. And again, portion size is key. Granola can pack quite a few calories in a small serving, so it's something you may prefer to use as, say, a topping sprinkled your yogurt, rather than as a stand alone breakfast cereal swimming in a bowl of milk.

Why would you "have" to give up oatmeal? Oatmeal is awesome!

Other good carbs might include beans, lentils, whole grains... fruit... these are all carbs that come packaged up with lots of other good nutrition - fibre and vitamins and in some cases protein... good stuff!

Just try to get your total daily carb intake to fall within the suggested Spark ranges and avoid refined sugar/flour (candy, cookies, cakes) and tread lightly on starchy carbs (potatoes, bread, rice and pasta). Once you cut out the refined/processed junky stuff, pretty much any other carb can be considered a "good" carb - just be mindful of appropriate portions.

Hi! I'd just like to get opinions on good carbs other than veggies. I love oatmeal; I don't use sugar (stevia instead), but flavor instead with cinnamon. Do I HAVE to give it up? Also, what about granola? (homemade preferably) Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
