I'd go with the smoothie suggestion, because you can put just about any veggie in there that you like, and don't have to worry about the sugar-laden icecream.

Also, yogurt, applesauce, and mashed veggies may be options.

Frozen bananas, with or without the addition of coconut or almond milk, and whirred in the food processor or blender make a great ice cream substitute.

Grits or cream of wheat. You can mince, cook well, and mix in vegetables to make more savory grits.

The old standbys when I had tonsillitis included: soft boiled eggs; cottage cheese;bananas yogurt...and my favorite was eggnog made with skim milk! I also used to get my favorite soup: cream of mushroom, although we did it cold since The cold foods all feel good....

They didn't have frozen low sugar yogurts back then...but that might be a decent choice as well. You might try mashing up bananas and partially freezing them into a pudding consistency as well. Tapioca made with Splenda would work (if you eat Splenda...)

Does SPark Recipes have some decent puddings listed??

You could make a healthy smoothie with Greek yogurt and any combo of fruit and greens. You can add avocado, chia, flax or coconut oil for some healthy fats (if the smoothies are all you're eating). And if you mix up a different combo each time, they shouldn't get too to boring.

So I have tonsillitis. My throat is swollen and feels like someone shoved a cheese grater down it. My doc says to stick to soft foods and I might be able to escape surgery. He was going on about things like pudding and milkshakes and ice cream and I asked him if there were any healthier options but he didn't really have any suggestions.

When it comes down to it, ice cream and frozen yogurt are the only things that feel good on my throat. Kale just isn't all that appealing, to be completely honest. And I could easily sit in my sweats and devour half a pint of phish food, no problem. BUT I DONT WANT TO! Well, I do, but I shouldn't.

SO! Any suggestions for what to eat to not hate myself after?
