Pistachios aren't too bad, so far as nuts go - 1 ounce (47 nuts) is only about 150 calories. If you get them unshelled, 47 nuts in a little bowl actually looks like a fairly nice serving, and it takes quite a while to get 47 nuts out of their shell... so for me at least, it's a lot more of an "experience" (and thus worthy of the calories) on the odd occassion where I decide to indulge.
It's also nice to look at nuts as "enhancements" for other foods (i.e. a few sprinkled on a salad or into your yogurt parfait)... rather than looking at them as a stand-alone snack food.
