Have you been deliberately lowering your sodium consumption recently? It could just be that you are no longer used to having a lot of it, so you are noticing it more now.
When I started cooking more, using primarily whole foods, my daily sodium consumption ended up averaging around 1300mg per day. After a couple of months at that level, I could seriously only taste salt when I ate anything that had a relatively high amount of sodium. Even plain celery tasted salty to me.
I'm currently having to eat high sodium (thanks to my doc), and am fighting to find other flavourings to hide the salt taste, since I find it really over-bearing.

Colonoscopies allow polyps to be removed before they can become cancer, or let cancers be found before they are too widespread. If you are 50 or older, or have any symptoms, please don't let fear stop you from covering your butt.
