Indigestion won't make you gain weight. It's uncomfortable, but it's not a weight-gaining issue.
If you'll notice, the "time" you're not supposed to eat after is always different. Some say 6, some say 8, others say midnight.
The point is eating late is often linked to binging (the late night munchies we're all so familiar with) and that leads to overeating... not that our body somehow metabolizes food different based on the clock.
You don't turn everything to fat after a certain time. That is, thankfully, a myth!
What matters at the end of the day is your calorie differential... your ratio of overall calories burned to calories eaten. If you're otherwise at a calorie deficit, you're not going to gain weight just because you ate dinner at 7. :)
