Tell your friend to do herself a favour and turn off Dr. Oz. He is a quack who gets paid to promote every latest fad diet/gimmick on the market. The Dr. Oz Show is the equivalent of infomercial.
A juicing cleanse is completely unnecessary (our bodies are quite capable of cleansing toxins themselves, in fact we have multiple organs that perform that very function). Any temporary diet will just cause you to gain the weight back once you stop the diet, that's why they're called yo-yo diets. Ingesting an obscene amount of carbs that are stripped of their fiber is *not* healthy. The fiber slows down digestion and allows them to be released slowly. Stripped of this they absorb quickly and cause insulin levels to spike. It is *always* healthier to eat your fruit and veg whole and accompanied with some healthy fat and lean protein.
