Also, when visiting your doctor, make a list of the ingredients on the label. It COULD be the almonds, but it may be something else entirely (especially since you didn't say whether it was the unsweetened type, or whatever - each one is different)

I COULD be that you have an issue with almonds and don't realize it, but what-ever the cause, I would be inclined to stop using it for a while and try another milk alternative - perhaps Soy, Rice or Oat. Just make sure that it is a good source of calcium and protein. If, after a week you don't have any problem, try the Almond Milk again and see what happens. If you get the same problem, then don't consume it because there is obviously something in it that is causing the problem. It could be helpful to talk to your Dr about it and ask for allergy tests.

I agree, stop drinking it. And see if the problem goes away.

I agree with the previous posts: stop drinking it if it causes you problems. If you want to avoid cow's milk, you might try hemp, soy, etc.

Almond milk doesn't have much calcium naturally, so they add an inexpensive calcium supplement. It's possible that that's what's causing the issue. Have you ever taken calcium-based stomach or heartburn remedies like TUMS? How did those sit with you? The stuff in your almond milk is probably a similar form of calcium.

At any rate, as Dragonchilde said, if it doesn't settle well, stop drinking it. There's no particular reason you need it, especially if you can drink real milk without any issues.

Milk and almond milk are two completely different things; Not having problems with one doesn't mean you'll be able to handle the other.

If it's causing you discomfort, stop drinking it, and go back to what you were doing before. I'd talk to your doctor to see if you may have some sensitivity or allergy to the almond milk.

I've been drinking almond milk for a little over a week. And every evening after having my glass of milk, my stomach hurts and I feel sick. I've never had problems with milk in the past. Has anyone had a digestive problem after drinking almond milk ?

You don't drown by falling in the water, you drown by staying there.
