Tea is a great way to help fight cravings, but not for the reasons you think. (Don't suppose you picked up that Woman's World issue a few weeks back, eh?)
Drinking tea before or after a workout will not help nor hinder weight loss. If it's zero-calorie, it will provide no actual energy, although if it's tea with caffeine in it, that might provide a little bit of a boost from just the caffeine.
Tea is a great way to enjoy flavor. The heat and hydration help you feel full. If you want something sweet, and have a cup of tea instead of a donut, it will help you lose weight because it will be replacing a calorie-laden sweet treat.
Green tea has antioxidants that are good for your body, but it won't make you lose weight faster than if you don't drink it.
What you eat before or after you workout doesn't really affect how you "burn fat" - It can affect blood sugar, and affect your ability to continue, but it's not really going to matter when you eat your calories in a day... only what and how many you eat affect it.
