I get a similar range based on my size and activity level, but the reality is that anything more than 1200-1300 and I won't lose weight. For me, carbs are more important though...I need to be around 100 and certainly lower than 150 if I want to lose and not just maintain.
The only way to find this out is to track everything that you eat and watch the trends over time.
