It really depends on so many factors!

6 pounds is fantastic - keep up the awesome work!

Depending on how much you have to lose, you may see bigger drops in the beginning and then they will slow down. My first week I lost 9 pounds and my second week i lost half a pound.

1-2 pounds a week is a good rate of weight loss. Some weeks you will lose less, some more and some you may not lose at all or even gain.

The important thing is to remain consistent in your healthy habits

Week 1 weight loss isn't something that is going to set you up for success nor failure; it's good that you lost 6 lbs in your first week, but it's unlikely you'll maintain that rate. Likewise, people who lose nothing their first week aren't necessarily doing anything wrong, either!

As long as you avoid crazy fad and crash diets, aim to eat healthy and enough to support your activity level, and include regular exercise, a calorie-restricted diet will eventually produce results. :)

Just remember that it can take as much as 6-8 weeks for healthy lifestyle changes to translate to the scale. That's normal, and fine!

What was your week 1 weight loss? Weekly averages since then? Might be helpful if you include the diet you follow & any tips are always appreciated!

From the 1st of June to now, I have lost 6 lbs following a low carb diabetic diet. (I wish I would have known about SP on the 1st)
