I count tea as water as long as it doens't have added sugar or caffeine (so I would count yours as water). It's really up to you though.

It's full of water molecules, so yes, it's water. Your body is going to see it as water. Count it.

I tend not to count anything that's not just water but it actually does count.

It's fluid, so it can count from that aspect. But some folks wouldn't count it as water because it isn't "just" water.

It's really your choice.

I disregard the 'water' directive, and instead count all fluids. I also count jelly (it turns to liquid when eaten) but seldom have it. Even fruit and have fluid. The idea is to remain well hydrated. The idea behind water is that it is calorie-free, and generally additive free, which is a massive help for those on a calorie reduced diet.

It's really up to you whether you want to count it in the water tally or not.

It counts towards your fluid requirements for the day! It hydrates pretty much exactly as well as plain water would.

However some people like to use the water tally as a way of encouraging themselves to "drink more plain water."

It's really a matter of your personal preference of how you wish to use these tools.

Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE**
Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)

Yes your body is still being hydrated by it, so you can count it if you would like. I don't track water intake personally, but I do know that your body needs liquid...it doesn't have to be in the form of H2O.

So one of my favorite lunch places is a Vietnamese restaurant down the street from my work. They have lots of healthy lunch options, lots of veggies (the kind I actually like) and fresh chicken.

One of my favorite things they have is instead of the ice tea being your usual black tea, it's a really lightly brewed jasmine ice tea. Love the stuff, and it's not bitter, so I never have to sweeten it.

But does it go towards my water count? It doesn't have caffeine, it doesn't have any sweeteners or anything like that. I still count it as Tea-Brewed in my food tracker, so I'm counting the tiny amount of calories I might get from it, but wonder if I should count it towards my water as well.
