I just started reading it and am enthused about giving the Whole30 a try. I don't think it is for everyone, but I think it could really help a lot of people. I personally know several people who did the whole30 program and it has changed their life. Some of them have adhered strictly to that way of eating after the program and others have modified it and it works for them.
I only just started reading it and don't know much, but here is what I can gather. The authors' philosophy is not about restricting what you eat per se, but rather completely changing your relationship with food. Coming to an understanding that everything you put in your body will make you more healthy or less healthy. There is no neutral. So, what would you rather put in your body?
I have tended to be an "everything in moderation" type person, but I have come to realize that there is no moderation when it comes to certain foods with me. There are some foods that I just can't put the brakes on for once I start eating. Sugars and good breads being the primary ones. It is not to say that I'm going to give them up 100 percent, but I need to be much more strict about when and why I let myself indulge.
I'd love to find others on Sparkpeople that are interested in this or are currently following their program.
