That is why I prefer a baked potato; it's easier to track and I know what I am eating. Had a baked sweet potato last night and loved it without anything added.

I do not think butter is included in mashed potato, or anything else, such as milk or cream cheese.

I would be inclined to weigh the potato and the butter or whatever you use, separately. I don't use the SP Nutritional stuff for potato because it is difficult to properly assess the size - I like weight measurements, not diameter, especially when some spuds come in a variety of shapes, it makes it rather hard!

My advice would be when in doubt create your own potato counter and use that.

A serving of a potato I microwave is about 5.3 ounces, then whatever you add to it
Hope that helps

Ok thanks. I have another question about potatos (or size portions in general).
If something had a dia of 1 1/3 (like a small potato) it would be about that big: i35.photobucket.com/albums/d170/dragonflas

Is that right? Cause it seems ridiculously small. A Potato like that would be even smaller than the fingerling Potatos I have at home. And something with a dia of 4 (like a large potato) would still not be large in my eyes?

I'm inclined to believe it doesn't, as 1 cup mashed potatoes is almost equal in fat, protein, carbs to one medium baked potato (with which you could make 1 cup mashed potatoes).

At 1 gram of fat per cup, they're not including butter or cream.

Do something everyday that your future self will thank you for.

Honestly, I'd be inclined to measure and track the potato, butter and milk separately. The way people make mashed potatoes can vary quite a lot.

Goal 1 - break 200 (46 pounds lost)**DONE**
Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE**
Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)

I was wondering if butter is already included in the nutrition counter for mashed potatos? and if it is how much
