The Yummy Life blog is full of delicious-looking recipes!
The first time I made the refrigerator oatmeal I didn't use chia and it was a little runny, so I went out and bought chia. Last night I mixed up the apple cinnamon oatmeal and had it for breakfast this morning. It was so good!
I might try making it with kefir instead of greek yogurt and milk. I also want to try different flavors.

I also used a recipe from this website to make instant oatmeal packets for my husband to take to work. Much healthier than the boxed kind!

I love oatmeal! Keeps me full until lunch and there are so many options. Right now, since it is so hot out, I've been eating refrigerator oatmeal.

www.theyummylife.com/Refrigerator_Oatmeal

I make mine with Chiobani and soy milk, never any sweetener. Today was blueberry yogurt with frozen dark cherries. 1 yogurt container will make 3 servings of the oatmeal. I just make 3 at a time, pick a frozen fruit and add in. Next morning, breakfast!

Overnight oatmeal is awesome. I've been eating it everyday for the last couple months and have tried loads of combos:

Key lime oats- squeezed lime juice and zest topped with shredded coconut.
Chocolate covered Strawberries- unsweetened cocoa powder, honey and strawberries.
Chocolate, cherry "cheesecake"- unsweetened cocoa powder, honey, ricotta cheese, cherries and shredded coconut.
Banana with ricotta cheese and sugar-free chocolate pudding mix.
Banana and lemon with ricotta cheese- lemon juice/zest
Pear and cottage cheese (nutmeg, cinnamon and maple syrup)
Frozen banana and mango pureed in the morning for a frozen soft serve on top and topped with coconut flakes.
Vanilla, blueberries and banana- used sugar free vanilla pudding.
Mint chocolate- unsweetened cocoa powder, honey and peppermint extract
Natural peanut butter and banana (also used almond butter and banana).

Take your focus off the Marshmallow.

I can bench Nicole Richie, eat more than she does in a day before noon, I have a good 20 lbs on her but could still wear her pants.

I use the oats, half milk, half water, and fresh berries. Sometimes some vanilla extract too.

A swirl of PB and a squirt of honey is always good too

I use Rolled Oats and add 25% the weight of the Rolled Oats with Baker's Bran (much higher fibre). I add some water, (but only enough for it to be cooked and THICK), zap it for a couple minutes in the microwave, thin it down a bit with soy milk, sprinkle with a tiny amount of brown sugar, then pour a little more soy milk over it. I love it like that.

I love to make multi-grain cereal to take to work. I get small quantities of organic grains like steel cut oats, quinoa, teff, barley, wheat berries, & other whole grains in bulk. Some take longer to cook so depending on what I have on hand I start boiling water, toss in the longest cooking grain (wheat berries usually) let them get going, then gradually add other grains. I make it quite liquid because it will absorb the rest of the water overnight. Let it cool, put it in the fridge. In the morning I put a scoop in a bowl, add various wonderfulness like fruit, nuts, seeds, yoghurt, protein powder. An inexpensive, nutritious, very satisfying meal! I like REBECCATKD's suggestion of adding egg whites!

I just made a great oatbran recipe - I use oatbran, but I'm sure other types of oats are just as good. It was so simple and a bit devilish - I added one tsp of cocoa powder and two tsp of sugar to the milk when I was heating it over the stove! Believe it or not this was only a 30 calorie addition to the oatmeal but it was sinfully good. It's now going to be my once a month treat for when I'm really craving chocolate (*coughcoughperiodcravingscoughcough*).

I love the oatmeal idea with apples, walnuts and raisins!
I add ground flax seed (better ground for nutrient absorption) and 1 tbsp. of hemp seed, nice nutty flavor and a good source of morning protein.
Next time I will try the apples, walnuts and raisins too!
I always lose weight when I eat my oatmeal every day for brekkie! Thanks for the tip!

I use the Quaker old-fashioned oats, make it with 1/2 milk and 1/2 water. My favorite add-in: chopped Granny smith apples, walnuts, and raisins.

In the fall, I roast a butternut squash, cut into cubes and freeze in 1/2 cup servings. One 1/2 cup serving with oatmeal and brown sugar always says October to me.

I love oatmeal - quick oats are my favorite. I've made a batch of oatmeal and put in separate containers to last 2-3 days for breakfast(at work). I don't know if its the oats, maybe I should be using steel cut oats or ???. The ones I make tend to be too starchy or mushy or sticky. I've been looking up some recipes that are overnight oats - not cooked, one recipe used apple juice instead of milk. I'm thinking about trying this, but assembling it when I get up and by the time I get to work - I'm hoping YUMMY? What are some of your favorite ways to make oatmeal?
