I'd usually think both.

GRACE. BEAUTY. LAUGHTER. REST. COMPASSION. GOOD FOOD.

I love to cook and bake. I have compiled hundreds of recipes on Pinterest: Crowd pleasers: Traditional & Lightened versions of timeless favorites, as well as: gluten free, vegan, Paleo & Grain-Free... and a ton of Scones and desserts.

"I guess we can call it a starchy vegetable that is loaded with good for us stuff."

And tasty too! emoticon

Good idea for counting it as both.
That way you don't overdo it (and have something like rice or bread or some other starch too).

A good green salad, or steamed green veg would balance it nicely, I'm guessing.

Thanks, that's what I thought it might be. I'll need to add a regular vegie and cut back on the serving size of the sweet potato to make things balance right. I've just been counting it as a veg.

Thanks again.

I count it as both for getting the numbers up - it is a starchy vegetable. BUT on the plate I have it as a starch - i.e., 25% the plate. The other coloured veges I class as 'vege' on the plate and that is 50% in volume.

Do I count sweet potato as a vegetable or a starch?
