Being a bit off with your carb/fat/protein percentages a little bit isn't that big a deal. The ones on SP are guidelines based on the average person. The important thing is to make sure you're portioning your food in a healthy way and making healthy food choices. Congrats on the kids!

Thanks for the advice! Adding to my meal plan or switching back and forth sounds great, but will it mess us up if we aren't quite on target with our carb/fat/protein percentages everyday? At least until we get the hang of how to eat better and can start adding in our own variations.

Anarie said it best. That is what I would do to if my dh was on board! Good Luck and congratulations on your twins!

I agree and the meal plans are just suggestions. You can also alternate cooking your meals 4 days a week and cook his the other 3 days. What's important is to watch the portions as your calorie intake will be lower, and still make sure you're getting enough nutrients overall.

In the end it will be similar - more produce, fresh fruit as dessert less packaged. Fewer pastries, cakes, pies, etc.

Congrats that you have support and he is doing this with you.

The computer isn't smart enough to do this, but a human brain will have no trouble. Just take one of the meal plans and adapt it for the other person. Generally, it's easier to take the woman's plan and just make the man's portions larger and/or add a snack or two until you meet his nutritional targets. That does mean that he has to turn off his meal plans and enter the foods with his own fingers instead of having the computer do it, but since everything that's in the meals plans is in the database, it will only take a few minutes a day.

My husband and I are both trying to lose weight, and we've both joined SparkPeople. But now we've got a bit of a snag. We have very different suggested meal plans. I'd love to use these, both because of knowing it's balanced right and because it would be soooo much easier than trying to come up with something myself. We have 4 month old twins, so easy is good. (Part of why we're in the shape we're in now: the drive-thru is much easier than finding time to cook.) Is there a tool on here that can help me out or do I just need to buckle down and create a meal plan?
