I switched to unsweetened vanilla almond Silk from unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze because Silk uses non GMO almonds and doesn't have carrageenan. I admit, I don't really know much about carrageenan or why it's supposed to be bad, but I figure better safe than sorry, if I can get it without I'll do that. So I do.
It tastes great to me, I drink it plain, on cereal, in cooking, in smoothies, even in baking. Pretty much anywhere I need milk I can replace it with this, except in things like pudding where you need it to 'set up' like milk. It's even great for mixed drinks as it won't curdle combined with alcohol.
If it was just to "replace" milk I probably wouldn't bother, but I also use it for calcium. Even if it is "just tums" it's still calcium, and easier to digest than in milk, and I prefer to eat/drink my nutrients than buy vitamins which make me choke trying to swallow sometimes.
