I only count my water. If I count everything, I wouldn't get all the recommended water. I do not believe that other drinks hydrate as well. If I drink more from other sources, then I consider that to just be a bonus

I count anything clear. So basically water and herbal tea - but not if I add milk. I don't care for Crystal Light, Vitamin Water, or anything like that.

i only count it if it has 0 calories. Most of what I drink is plain water. I don't allow myself to drink anything but plain water until I get my 8 cups in a day. It's how I make sure I am not wasting calories on fluids.

I've always heard that you can count anything liquid, like tea, coffee, diet soda. But normally I just count water because I do drink a lot of it.

Awesome question!!! Thanks HOMEHEARTH for the link to the article. It was very interesting. I always thought it was just water too. However, according to the article it looks like you can count any liquid. I will probably continue to just count the water that I drink. The article was definitely interesting.

It's a new day -- DIVE right in.

Like others have said, you can use the tracker any way you like. I personally use it just for straight water, since I'm equipped with a 20-ounce bottle I'm happy to refill. If it were me, I would probably just count water-based drinks like tea or powder drinks that you mix like coffee or tang. I can't imagine trying to determine the amount of water in something like orange juice or milk.

I count anything with no calories, which for me is plain water, sparkling water, tea, and coffee (both of which I drink caffeinated, with no milk/cream and no sugar).

Gatorade is very high in sugar so be vigilant...maybe try Ocean Spray diet Cranberry juice which only has 2 sugars...mix half glass of cran with 1/2 glass of water, or an ice slushie made from fresh berries...tea, lemon water, or some high water foods are cucumber, celery, spinach, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, zucchini, radishes, eggplant, cabbage, cauliflower, sweet peppers, spinach, strawberries, grapefruit and brocolli, artichokes, watercress, cabbage, onion, even carrots...and homemade veggie soup (less sodium when homemade.)

Yes, drink water but other sources like fruits and veggies count too! Some fruits and veggies can hydrate you just as well as water.

The water counter is for your personal use, so you can use it the way that works best for you. Some people only count actual water (I used to), or you can count anything that hydrates you at all! (as I now do.)

It's your counter, use it the way you like!

Can you count diet drinks, diet juices, or decaf coffee in your water count for the day, or does it have to be straight water period????

Never give up. We have to get older, but we don't have to get heavier. We will feel better as we age if we are fit, active, and thinner.
