I used to be the same way. Dang Diet Pepsi! I just try and drink water and forget about it. It is hard when I am home because I have it for my mother-in-law in the fridge.

i will say that i am the sort of person that if i say i am never going to have something again, i immediately want it. even if i don't really like it that much, i will have to have it. so for me, i would have it. the way i have found to best cut out things [cold turkey does not work for me] is to start by making myself wait a few hours if i get a craving for something. once i get used to not immediately gratifying the craving, i'll move it to the next day. in other words, if i want it now, i'll make up excuses to wait until tomorrow to have it. then i move it to two days, then three days. i use the sort of creative excuse making that came in handy when shirking exercise [if i wait until sunday then i can buy it at the store where it is cheaper and i can get other item x at the same time, that's best to buy at the pharmacy and i 'm not going to pick up my prescription until ten days from now so i should wait, etc] and as i get used to putting it off, it gradually tends to become less appealing each time i get it, thus extending the times between when i want it.

-google first. ask questions later.

Don't give in.
It will just take you back to the beginning.
Push through.
You'll make it.

Same as any craving/addiction. Feeding it won't help in the long run.
Artificial sweeteners are designed to make you want more.

I know this can be very difficult. I know, from experience, that you can do this. Push through. I am on day 36 with no soda of any kind

Happiness is there if you chose it.

My husband and I both gave up Diet Pepsi about 2 months ago. At first it was difficult but I replaced it with flavored water. My hubby replaced it with carbonated water. Now I get a taste for a diet soda about once every two weeks and I always have one ... but just one. Funny though, it's never Diet Pepsi. Today it turned out to be Diet Dr. Pepper! LOL!

Perhaps you should just have one, satisfy the craving and get on with your healthy eating plan.

I assume you are trying to avoid, or limit, or decrease the use of diet soda??

Are you craving the sugary taste, the caffeine, the carbonation???
