Never ever tried a smoothie of this type- found out my stomach is more satisified if I eat fruits or vegetables so I have to chew them.. The stomach is one big blender lol...

I use aloe all the time either from the plant itself or just the juice. I never tried Nopales, but it may be worth looking into it.

:)

Slimy? Is your friend using canned?
Nopales are pulpy, yes, but slimy is what happens if they sit around.

I'd guess they have a good amount of soluble fiber.

Do you mean nopales or aloe vera? Both are succulents and therefore commonly called cactus.

I've added the tuna (nopales fruit) and aloe juice to smoothies.

Honestly, I'd rather have cucumber for the ease of prep and clean up.

So a friend of mine told me that she drinks a cactus smoothie every morning to help her lose weight. So I figured I would give it a try, its all natural, so at the very least it will help me get more veggies into my system. I had my first one this morning, has anyone else ever tried one of these cactus smoothies?
