Vegetarian/vegan diets work great for some people, and honestly, I'm kind of jealous of them! Last summer I was really cutting back on meat, making lots of vegetarian dishes with whole food ingredients, and my weight loss just stalled. I'm now going more towards a paleo type of diet, and have started losing fat and gaining muscle again. If your reasons are moral, then look for grass fed, naturally raised animal products and don't feel bad about eating them. It's the factory-farmed stuff that is inhumane. There is no one-size-fits-all best diet, and some of us do better with animal proteins, while others can thrive on plants alone.
Voluntary Discomfort is the secret cornerstone of strength. We build our whole lives around increasing comfort and avoiding discomfort, and yet by doing so we are drinking a can of Weakness Tonic with every morning’s breakfast. ~Mr. Money Mustache
