I have a secret to tell you.
You CAN have steak every night, if you can afford it. ;) And you can most assuredly have asparagus! the trick is not to diet and deny yourself the things you love. It's to limit your portions, and count calories so you know what you're getting. If you stick tojust a serving of steak (3 oz, unlike the 12+ oz monsters steakhouses give you)you can enjoy it frequently! I love adding it to my salads, too.
Realistically, you know you're not going to eat steak every night. That much red meat all the time is probably not that good for you, and well, moderation is key.
Here's my question to you. If you did go to smoothies... what are you going to do when you hit your goal weight? You won't have dealt with the problem of your initial weight gain. Most people who do shake diets gain the weight back...and then some.
So let's talk about your program. You're eating whole food, and exercising, but how MUCH? It's still possible to overeat, even on healthy foods. At the very least, you may be naturally eating at maintenance (that's what I tend to do.) How many calories a day are you taking in? As much as you are exercising, it's important to eat enough to support your activity level while maintaining a healthy calorie deficit for weight loss.
