The Herbalife company is back in the news again. It's not positive, and I will it at that. Good healthy food is the best way to go.

Nutrition aside, Herbalife is an incredibly unethical company.

If you must have a shake, go to the store and compare the nutrition on protein powders...it's the same stuff and it will cost you less.

herbalife seems to be an expensive marketing brand to me, aloe vera thru herbalife is nothing less then 20 times more expensive then its original source or competing brands (in Colombia where you can buy aloe vera just in the supermarket; nothing special)

Before taking anything, better ask your doctor first or any health professional if it's right for you or if this herbal life will do you good.

I agree. You do not ever have to sign up to sell Herbalife. I've been on it for two weeks so far and have lost 6 pounds. You also eat lots of real food with the shakes. I feel better than I've ever felt, am more energetic and actually enjoy the shakes every day. It's super hot outside right now, and blending them with ice is a real treat on a miserable day.

I have done 2 weightlost challenges with a local Herbalife Company. I didn't really purchased the the products, because for one they are too, expensive, and second I wanted to show that you don't have buy to see results. I buy a shake on several occasions, however I found that they didn't satisfy my hunger for long. I rather be chewing my food then drinking it.

Woah Woah Woah..... I think so many people have a hard time losing weight since it seems so hard.... there are so many things to balance.... if someone wants a herbalife shake when they are in a hurry instead of trying to do something themselves that they don't know how to do..... let them! I see nothing wrong with herbalife!

Herbalife is direct marketing.... and guess what, not everyone needs to sell them! I work out of town and only have a choice of fast food and like stopping by a herbalife store once a week... am I better of doing that our getting on my soap box preaching about its ingredients.... it's way better than the alternative and they are tastey!

And no..... it is not just a scheme.... I have no desire to sell them. Yes, some people do... but at the end of the day it's just a direct marketing product.

I have used Herbalife before and I am going to start again starting next monday.
I will be honest with you, just because it works for one person doesn't mean it will work for everyone.
I live in a very fast-pace lifestyle so Herbalife shake works wonders!
I feel like different people have different lifestyle and preference. I know there are a lot of negative reviews on Herbalife here, but really depends.
I loved it in the past and saw great result. However, just like any other diets and weightloss it is important to maintain it.
Don't over rely is..I guess my point of view.

I'm currently doing a weight lost challenge and it's with a Herbalife Nutrition Center. However, I don't really use there products, because I want to show people that you can lose the weight with shake supplements, pills, teas, and body wraps. The only time that I get a shake is when I win a weigh in a get a free shake card. Beside the products are too, expensive for me to maintain. I can honestly say from my experience having a shake. It only ward off my hunger for about 2 hours and that was after exercising. I just prefer to have a real meal.

It is my opinion that any "diet" plan that does not include meals and snacks from the 4 food groups is a fad and/or scam. Diet pills too. Some of these things may work, but as soon as you go back to eating real food, the weight comes right back. The best thing is to eat a variety of healthy, low fat , low calorie foods and make a LIFESTYLE CHANGE. Chances of keeping the lost weight off are much greater. and I don't know, but it seems to me that those liquid meal replacements cannot possibly supply your body with all the nutrients your body needs. And your body truly does need these things. I would not consume these drinks, nor would I sell them to desperate, gullible, uninformed people for profit. I apoligize if I have offended you. This is one of my soapboxes.

I wouldn't do it. You never know what they are adding to it. I tried a "natural" diet pill years ago that was anything but.

Take those people off your Facebook page right away. When people say it's a pyramid marketing plan, what that means is that the people who "invited" you to the "webinar" will make money if they con you into becoming a salesperson for them. Herbalife is a company that doesn't really make its money from selling shakes and vitamins; it makes its money by charging people to sell it for them! You buy a small sales kit, and when you realize that you're not earning your money back, they tell you that you'll make MUCH more if you buy a bigger kit. They'll also push you into nagging all your friends and family to become distributors under you.

The shakes aren't necessarily bad for you, but they're no different from SlimFast. The real danger from Herbalife is that they'll lie to you and suck you into their business, and you can lose a LOT of money really fast.

I had a co-worker at my last job who sold Herbalife. Claimed she lost all her weight using it (and she lost a LOT of weight really quick!)

we found out several years later she was on fen phen emoticon
so now she has heart valve issues to worry about.

personally, drinking a meal does not satisfy me (I know that for some folks it does). *IF* I was going to go that route, I'd be more apt to go with smoothies that I made myself.

if you really want a shake--make your own. I make my own smoothies and a juices all the time. I use real food as SLIMMER says. I don't trust how the shakes are made. They may use GMO's or other additives and preservatives that your body does not need.

Let me say right off that I've never used/ tried Herbalife shakes. The free webinar would be set up, only to entice people to buy their products. Because Herbalife is in business to make money. Just like Atkins or any of the other places hawking shakes or bars or whatever, that have free websites or whatnot that you can join. The bottom line is that they want you to buy their stuff. They prey on people's desires to drop weight quickly and easily-- "10 pounds in 3 weeks!!" or something like that.

And overall the stuff is not cheaper than just buying real food. It does not teach you how to plan your day's meals and prepare healthy choices in food (including things that are quick and easy to prepare). None of it is a magic bullet to lose weight. And most of it contains a lot of ingredients you can't pronounce and who knows what that stuff is.

You'd be better off making yourself a smoothie at home, out of real ingredients.

I agree with SlimmerKiwi.

I'd rather learn how to balance my menu correctly, than rely on someone's preconceived idea of what I should be eating, as a 'magic' solution to weight loss

My understanding is that Herbalife is sold via pyramid selling. That aside, you are far better off to save your money and buy real food. That way you actually learn how to apply proper nutrition in a way that can sustain you the rest of your life, without having to rely on shakes/diet pills or whatever the next fancy aid is, that may or may not be good for you. Some are so loaded with chemicals and a lot aren't FDA approved, therefore don't have the safety/quality control applied to them.
