SUNNYMARIELEE1 - Don't feel bad. I can totally relate to your post. I've been working out for months! I take seven classes a week, which includes five cardio classes and two weight training classes. Every time I get on the scale I'm extremely disappointed and wonder why I even bother. It's definitely frustrating to say the least.

There seems to be an echo in here... but...

Don't give up, and use the tracker. It can give you very, very useful information.

Also, please don't think you have wasted all that exercise just because it didn't lead to weight loss. You have still done something great for your body.

I'm the same way -- plateau for more than a year. I know its because of the rapid initial weight loss due to the lap band surgery so I'm just patient and enjoying being healthier all the time. I don't' gain weight.............

DO NOT GIVE UP!

You are much better off now than when you were three months ago. I'm sure you feel better, too.

I was disappointed when I weighed Saturday because my weight stayed the same. I got to thinking about it and I knew I messed up several times this past week. So now I'm happy about staying the same. This week will be much better.

Best to you!

I agree: DON'T GIVE UP!

Make sure that you're tracking your food. Weigh and measure everything you eat and put it in the nutrition tracker. It can be eye opening!

If you still don't lose weight after you've been tracking for a few weeks, you might consult a doctor or dietitian to see if there is a medical issue that is messing with your metabolism.

This program will work. It's foolproof: Eat healthy foods, in the correct amounts, and exercise (which you're already doing). The weight will come off.

Good luck!

2 years ago on spark I was the same, after 45 days I gave in and ate 3 slices of cheesy pizza with regular soda. DO YOU KNOW the next day I felt guilty, I weighed myself on the scale and I was down pounds, I forgot how many but It finally budged. That was a freak accident. Good luck on finding your nitch

If at first you don't succeed, just try, try and never give up

Hi SUNNYMARIELEE1

If your goal is to lose weight then your emphasis needs to be on what/how much you eat.

You can work out till you're blue in the face - you need to get a handle on what you eat.
Otherwise, you'll end up right here wondering why all the effort you put into working out is not getting you the results you want.

Remember, 80% nutrition 20% exercise (all working in tandem) will get you there.
Keep up the ST, it will help maintain the muscle you have while eating at a deficit.

Take a long hard look at your nutrition and see where you can make improvements. Start with looking at things which have too much sodium and added sugar. Find something which is processed you can maybe substitute for a whole food.
Just keep plugging away at making tweaks to your diet until you have something you can stick with for the long haul.
There are no 'good' and 'bad' just balance and moderation to meet your goals.

Don't give up!!

I want to echo the "don't give up" advice.

Yes, there are days when all of us think that way.
However, I've decided (for myself, and it may not apply to you) to think of this as a journey to health, first.

I am making healthier eating choices, and after that, healthier movement choices (except just recently, when I've been having kidney stone issues).

So, if my weight doesn't move on the scale, BUT I know I am getting healthy; I choose not to be discouraged. It's only one unit of measurement.

I hope you come to a conclusion regarding your issues, whether it's mis-measuring or not eating enough, or whatever. Best wishes on your journey.

I want to echo the advice that you not give up. No matter what the scale says, you are doing your body so much good by exercising.

However, that said, I also want to offer you one of the SP mantras: "You cannot out-exercise a bad diet."

Perhaps you could try this for the next 7 days: (1) Don't guess about your food. Don't estimate. Actually weigh and measure everything you put into your mouth--every drink that has a calorie, every lick off a spoon, every bite as you cook. In this way you will pay attention to HOW MUCH you are are eating. (2) Write it all down, so that you can learn to become aware of WHAT you are eating.

I think you are likely to find the solution to your problem in putting some focus on what kind of, and how much, food you eat.

Once you do, you can decide whether or not you want to make changes in this area of your life. I suspect that, if you do, you'll begin to see weight loss.

I eat well and in correct portions to lose weight and increase my health. I exercise to tone my muscles, strengthen my bones and increase my health.

I need both for balance. Perhaps you do too.

Best of success to you.

First, don't give up because regardless of what the scale says if you are making healthier food choices and exercising then you are doing right by your body and if you keep it up your elderly self will thank your now self for sticking with it :)

Next it sounds like you are active so we'll start with the food. You've probably heard this before but it is important if you want to see weight loss. Calories in, calories out. Have you counted your calories at all? Even if you think you are keeping within your estimated calorie needs it is super easy for extra calories to sneak in. I hate counting myself because I cook a lot of different recipes but it really is necessary. It sounds like you are eating maintenance calories, your daily activities are balancing out with your calorie intake. That of course is just a guess but start there if you haven't.
