In answer to your question, yes it is o.k. to exceed your calories once in a while. This isn't about deprivation or starvation, but wise choice of food most of the time, and within your calorie range most of the time.
Are you doing more exercise than normal?
Are you eating enough protein and complex carbs?
Has the change of season affected you?
You mention feeling drained lately, and because of this and the excess hunger, it might pay to make an appointment with your Dr to see if there is a medical issue going on. A simple blood test might be all that it takes to find out!
