That happens to me as well!!! If I stay home, I manage a little better with healthy snacks during the day (fruit, veggies, and/or laughing cow cheese wedge with whole wheat crackers), but once I leave the house is when the problem begins. . .
Take this weekend for example -Saturday I had breakfast (2/3 c cereal and 1/2 c 2% milk), but then my cousin came in from out of town and wanted to go out to eat so we ended up at Logan's. The rolls and butter are my weakness!!! I ate a roll and ever so slightly tapped on the butter. I ordered a side salad and a vegetable skewer for my sides and baby back ribs (which I ate only 1/2), but I munched on some peanuts before we ordered. So, I thought I had done okay, but then the kids wanted to go to the movies and that's where it went downhill with popcorn, jalapeno's, and Butterfinger bites (another weakness). I didn't have supper that night, cuz I was still full. But I managed to go over my calories range.
Sunday we went to mass early and my aunt had me on the phone so I missed breakfast. Got home and I ate a banana. My daughter had a party at Chuck E. Cheese and the little one wanted to go so we ended up having lunch there. I limited myself to 2 (the smallest slices) of pizza, a couple of wings, and a salad and veggies from the salad bar. Ended up having to make a quick run out of town for a meeting about 45 mins away. Get to my cousin's and she had made an upside down pineapple cake (my fave) so I had to (liek someone had a gun to my head. LOL!!!) have a piece. Meeting ran late, so on the drive back home we ended up stopping at convenience store for food/supper. Again, I went over my calorie range.
Good thing with all that, I still managed to loose 1.5 lbs, but still it's very difficult on the weekends. I guess since we're off work, we tend to be off in everything else. I have no idea. . .
