Oh, okay. Thanks for the clarification. I was having trouble finding that setting again, too. I did what you suggeste, and now my recommended calories are 1440-1700! I still want to stay on the low end until I get in maintenance mode, though. But this helps!

I don't mean the activity level - mine is set at sedentary since I work at a desk all day (I think. I can't find that setting again). There is a separate field for Calories burned in a week. Go to Goals and Progress on the start page, click change goal in the second section (the first is your calories, the second is fitness). Under cardio setup at the bottom of the page, there is a field called: If you know how many calories you burn each week, enter it

That in mind, 10 pounds in 1 month is still good. 5 pounds in 1 month is still good. Remember, the slower it comes off, the easier it is to maintain the healthy lifestyle (or so I am told-lol)

Kudos to you on doing such a great job so far! That's great that you've got both the eating and the exercising going so well!

Definitely update your calories burned in the fitness tracker. I'm about the same weight, and with a calorie burn of 1200 per week and a weight-loss goal of 1-1/2 to 2 lbs per week my range is 1380-1730.

I'm with you on not being in a rush, and honestly, I like eating too much to want to ever drop to 1200 calories per day, so this is working out great for me.

You might want to also look at adding some strength training to your exercise. With such a fast drop, you've likely lost a good bit of lean muscle along with the fat, and it would be a good idea to start building that up again so your metabolism isn't totally shot by the time you get to goal weight.

Good luck!

Afraid of a colonoscopy? Believe me - they are much less frightening than surgery and chemotherapy.

Colonoscopies allow polyps to be removed before they can become cancer, or let cancers be found before they are too widespread. If you are 50 or older, or have any symptoms, please don't let fear stop you from covering your butt.

Get checked!

My SP recommendations are 1200 to 1540 calories. I put in that I am moderately active, because i sit at a desk all day. I exercise (treadmill, elliptical, walking) for a MINIMUM of 3 times a week, for an hour at a time. I exercise vigorously, and sometimes I get 4-5 days in. The 1200 calories didn't seem enough at first, but now, it seems almost too much on some days. Maybe I should put in a higher activity level? I have lost 58 pounds since 1/7/13. I was averaging a weight loss of 16 pounds a month (yes, I know that is more than recommended), but for the last month, it was only about 10lbs. I think my deit was so bad before, that the weight just fell of at first. I am not really in a hurry to lose the weight. This is a lifestyle change. Thanks for the response...

If you put in the amount of calories you burn in a week into the fitness settings, Spark people will adjust the calories you need automatically. Honestly, I don't think you are eating enough. I weigh less and burn roughly the same amount of calories and my range starts at 1450.

Why are you staying at 1200 calories? You need to eat to fuel your body.

If I am trying to hold my calories to just 1200 a day, but I burn 400 calories with exercise, should I up my calories a bit for the day?
