Here is the home baked one that I really like. The serving size is for a 1/2 cup I end up using 1/4 cup in my greek yogurt.

I think it's best to cut down the portion size with granola. Use it as a garnish rather than a main ingredient. For example, rather than mixing your granola 50-50 with yogurt, mix your yogurt with fruit and then sprinkle 1tbsp of granola on top.

You don't have to eat the whole thing.

I make my own. Cheaper and I control the sugar.

I agree with the previous poster - make your own.

A lot of recipes will still be high in sugar - just cut down a bit. The result will be healthier but less clumpy.

Also, of course a nut heavy granola will have lots of calories. Some nuts are good for you, but if you want to cut back, just make the balance more oat heavy.

Generally, though, I think the unhealthy thing about granola is the sugar, not the nuts or seeds.

For flavor, to make up for the loss of sugar, add some spices. cinnamon, cloves, etc.

Make your own granola - there are lots of recipes for it and you can control the ingredients and calories.

I love sprucing tasty treats up with organic granola but it has lots of calories any good alternatives?
