I would be slightly skeptical... but actually, it might not be that far off....
The steak would be about 450.
The PLAIN potato would be about 250.
The asparagus would be inconsequential.
So you have maybe 700 calories *before* adding the sour cream etc. Well - if you use a tablespoon or two of sour cream and a sprinkling of bacon bits, there's another 50 calories or so - in which case - right on! But if you put 1/4 cup (or more) of sour cream and a handful of bacon bits.... yeahhh those condiment calories could add up fast.
Overall, a pretty decent choice for a restaurant meal. Lots of protein, would be nice and filling, the trick is keeping control of those little "would you like X with that's.... "
