A bad idea that's going to risk sabotaging your metabolism. Starving yourself for any period of time is not necessary, and is nothing but a short-term gimmick. Diets don't work; especially fad diets of this nature. Your body needs a minimum amount of calories to support your body's basic needs, like pumping blood through your body, brain function, even digestion. Giving it less than 1200 calories (especially such an extremely low amount) is a very bad idea... because do you know what your body's going to do? HOLD ON to fat, and start cannibalizing muscle and organ tissue to protect your brain.
Experts asked about this have said that this is basically bulimic behavior; and those prone to eating disorders can be triggered by this kind of eating pattern. NOt only that, it teaches you nothing about healthy living, and most people will gain whatever weight is lost after they return to a normal eating pattern.
ANY diet that claims you can "eat what you want" and still lose weight is a gimmick, and should be avoided. Skip this one. Don't start any "diets" you don't want to live with for the rest of your life. www.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutrition_art
Stick with the Sparkpeople plan. It works, and the proof is in the pudding.
