Good for you! I think it's great when people set positive goals for themselves. Breaking habits can be so hard to do.
Years ago I gave up biting my nails but I still pick at my cuticles, I want to quit so bad. Not to thread hijack but any suggestions would be helpful. I do it without even realizing.
As for pop, carbonated beverages make me burp, which I hate because I think it's gross. So I don't drink them.
