I am hypothyroid, have been for years. As long as my dosage is appropriate, I have no special difficulty in losing weight.
When my medication requirements change (which they have, over the years, as my thyroid function declines), I've had spells of time where I've packed the weight on pretty easily - but once I get my dosage sorted out and start paying attention to what/how much I'm eating, I figure I'm just like any other "normal" person :)
Gotta admit, I have not been doing much in the way of exercise. But since i started tracking my food intake and being really consistent with sticking to the 1200-1550 range, the weight has been coming off steadily, even without exercise. I KNOW i have to add exercise at some point (for my overall good health, not just for "weight loss") - but, one challenge at a time :)
