I keep a plastic container of cut-up low starch vegetables (carrots, celery, cabbage, green peppers-- whatever is in season/cheap) in the refrigerator. Any time I feel like I might be tempted to do too much "tasting" or grazing-- I put that on the counter & open the lid. The deal I've decided on for myself is that I can eat as much as I want but only from that container. I guesstimate how much I ate, for the Tracker. We're talking low-cal healthy food so I'm not worried if I'm off by 50-100 calories. (I usually don't eat at the top of my range anyway.)
Another thing I've found, for myself-- if I don't have a snack in the afternoon, I am starving by the time I start to cook dinner. I can make it from breakfast to lunch okay but there is a larger gap, til dinner. So I plan an afternoon snack to tide me over.
