Great job Ren! I'm excited for you! You're right, people who are overweight have an increased risk for developing diabetes, so taking control of your weight and what you eat now is a huge step away from disease.
Eating before your morning work out is good. If fact, not eating is a mistake I make occasionally...not eating ruins my workout performance which also hurts my mood. Just make sure that you don't eat too much because it can upset your stomach or give you heart burn.
It looks like you're on the right track. Keep it up! Learn as much as you can about nutrition because long term weight loss starts in the kitchen.
