I don't have high blood pressure and don't use a lot of salt in my cooking or at the table, and I don't eat frozen dinners or a lot of packaged food. But some foods have a lot of sodium in them (ham-- I love ham) and restaurant food is really bad about the salt.
I asked my doctor once if I should watch my sodium, and he said yes, because if I ever DO have high blood pressure problems and I'm used to eating a lot of salt, it would be that much harder to cut back. Made sense to me.
