You know, most of the time when I've eaten out, I do NOT weigh myself the next day. I've found that restaurant food is always higher in sodium than I'm used to eating-- I'll come home after a meal out and down a bucket full of water, I'm so thirsty. So sure, there'd be a "gain" on the scale, but it isn't really weight gain at all. It'll go away. No point torturing myself by a weigh in that I know doesn't accurately reflect my weight.
Like others have said, going over on fat for one day is no big deal. It's the trend over time that matters.
