Sparkpeople bases its recommendations on USDA guidelines, and isn't a diet at all! It's DEFINITELY not a low-carb diet. It's about balanced living for life. YOu don't need to eat low carb to lose weight, in spite of what the low-carb book writers will try to tell you.
