I usually eat around 1500-1800 calories a day. I'm 5'5" and weight somewhere around 120-130lbs. I haven't weighed myself in awhile.

I just made a new posting asking about how I can go in and chase my calorie range. I am 53 and cannot do as much exercise as I would like right now due to health issues. Sparkpeople has my daily recommended set at 1340-1700. I feel this is too many for me. I want to change it to 1200-1300 maximum.

I'm 5'3. I stay between 1200-1500, average of 1300 with one day a week where I enjoy something like gooey pizza. I've lost 15lbs since Jan 4th.

my range is 1400-1750. I usually eat in the 1600s. sometimes i am still hungry and i go over. i am 5 ft 6 and 133 pounds. I am currently trying to maintain. i have been maintaining (within a few pounds) my current weight since june 2012. i am moderately active. when i started sparkpeople in jan 2012, i was 158. the tracking really helps me. i tend to eat a lot of small meals and tracking has helped me see exactly what i am eating. before sparks, even when i thought i was eating healthy, i was eating too much.

My range is 1200-1550. I typically find I'm eating at the low end of that range. Some days, I have to work to get to the 1200. It seems the older I get, the less I can eat. I'm about 30 minutes away from dinnertime right now and am not the least bit hungry. I know I have to eat to lose the weight and I have no problem eating healthy. This is the very first time that I have been on a program for over 4 weeks now and have not "cheated" one time. If we eat out, I've been fortunate enough to have the menu choices that fit right in with Spark. I have no desire to cheat. My only desire is to be able to lose the weight this time and keep it off until I die! I've been a yoyo dieter all my life, gaining and losing, about six times in the 40 or so years that I have dieted. I know that's not good either. But SparkPeople has the very best program I've ever found and I have no problem with tracking nutrition and fitness. I love the challenges. I love the forums. I love SparkPeople!

My range is 1360-1710. I eat around 1650 avg/day but calorie cycle through the week (lower non-workout days, higher on workout days). I'm 5'3", 157 lbs & burn between 1500-2000 cal/wk through exercise. I also have a relatively active job - it's not unusual for me to have my 10k steps in by lunch. I started out in early November at 177 lbs, so about a 1.25lb loss/wk average.

I'm 5'9" and just gotten under 250 pounds and I've been on SP since early 2006 and in the time I've been here I've lost 43 pounds and kept it off. I'm diabetic on insulin and have PCOS, am in early menopause and in general have a few things stacked in my direction when it comes to health and other things in life. 1610 to 1960 is the range SPs given me but I'm lucky if I hit 1200 in any given day - I hate to hazard what my actual average really is since most days getting 1200 doesn't happen, which means hitting SPs min doesn't happen often never mind hitting the min that my diabetic dietician's given me to hit that of 1800. I'm fair active depending on the type of employment I've got one job I do seasonally can see me burning upwards of 1,000 calories a day on average those days I struggle to get enough into me do to our limited budget and limited foods that I can eat while away from home. I have to deal with lactose intolerance which the doc's think might actually be turning to into an out right dairy allergy plus I deal with gluten sensitivities which we think is heading towards an intolerance, I have an issue with hormone feed animals so trying to have them without is costly, I have an issue with soy and nuts in general and most beans are off the market for me plus I can't tolerate high amounts of citrus so eating oranges doesn't happen very often and apples well they are great but apple juice and me are not fast friends. Out side of work my mate and I go for daily walks (average 5,000 steps weekdays to 10,000+ weekends) plus our main way of getting around is using our own two feet as we have to budget in gas or local transit when we need to use either.

I'm 5'3". I didn't join Spark until I was about 6 months into it, but before that I stuck to 1200-1300 with the occasional splurge day/weekend, and lost about 25lbs that way. I joined Spark after I hit a plateau though, and upped the calories to 1300-1400, lost about 10 more, then hit a plateau again, so upped to 1500-1700, and got to my goal weight (150) at that point. Now I stick to 1700-1800 on weekdays and have at least one non-tracking splurge day per weekend, sometimes 2 depending on what we have going on. We also have season tickets to NHL hockey, and those nights we go to the games I do not track for that meal since there's no real way to do it, I just try to pick the healthier choices at the arena (which are pretty few). I've lost another 8.5lbs that way since October. I'm basically trying to slowly "wean" myself from tracking since honestly, I don't want to do it for forever. Edit to say: I do not exercise, and another site told me my daily calorie burn w/ sedentary lifestyle is 1927, so higher than what SP has me eating (my range here is 1480-1830).

When I started, my range was between 1700-2000 calories per day. I averaged at the high end of that, around 1900. I lost 25 pounds. :) I'm working out less now, and weigh 25 lbs less, so my range is 1480-1850 now. I stick between 1600-1700, and yes, I'm losing! My current weight is in my ticker, and I'm 5'7. The more activity you do, the more you need to eat to support that activity!

My calorie range is 1200-1550. I eat closer to the 1550 most days. I weighed in at 171 this morning. I'm 5'4. My starting weight was 175.8 2 weeks ago. So, I think I'm doing pretty good.

In the beginning few months of my weight loss I ate between 1300-1400 cals. Then I plateaued when I hit the 130's so in panic I dropped down to 1150-1200 cals. It worked for about 6 weeks and I dropped another 15 lbs. Then I plateaued again. So this time I raised my cals up to an avg of 1400 cals and started calorie cycling. It worked instantly and I've lost 6 lbs in almost 4 weeks. I eat between 1100-1650 cals for an avg. calorie intake of 1400 cals. I burn about 2000 cals a week in exercise and have an approximate calorie deficit of 1 lb/week. I'm 5'2, 113 lbs. I've lost 50 lbs in 7 months.

I try to average 1600 cal's. I keep a spread sheet so that I make sure it stays around there - any more then I gain - less and I lose (ever so slightly). When I was in weight-loss mode I ate 1400 cal's NO range (as per my Dietitian). I'm just on 5'6" - my heaviest was slightly more than the weight ticker and the present is where it is now. I am not sedentary but I don't exercise much, either - just get walks in putting groceries and laundry away 2-3x per week. Kris

My range is currently 1200 - 1550 and I'm eating 1400+. I've just busted a plateau and lost 7lbs since 2nd January. It's not just the calorie range that affects my weight though it's very much what I eat. I find that if I eat more protein and most of my carbs as fruit or veg instead of grains then I will lose weight. Winter is a difficult time for me because that's when I crave grains as I suffer from SADs and want to go into hibernation!

I am 5'7" (almost), weigh 147lb and I am at maintenance after losing just over 40lb. My range is 1600-2000 per day, and I like to hit the middle of it. When losing I stuck around 1600 cal, so I think if I ate at the bottom of my maintenance range I would probably keep losing.

Faithfully sticking to my 1200-1550 range. When i do a 7-day average it usually comes out to about 1350/day. 5' 6" 232# and on the sedentary side, attempting (so far successfully) to lose 2#/week (or more if it just so happens to leave; i don't complain).
